I see that not for all products a short description is added, so for those products, a snipe of the large description is used.

Did you copied the test theme to production? There are changes in the theme. Check also file catalog/view/theme/grocery/template/common/header.twig , its now including .css and .js.

I copied the whole test to the alaseel.nl
but there was a problem with home page cause by another extension thats why i changed it
but now the category listing is our issue

It is working, the short description extension was not enabled.

Actually, I used the short discretion to show the price per pcs and it should be only visible to the registered users.
So i need only the short description to be shown only on the product page nowhere else.
its working now as expected but the LONG Description still visible in the category listing which we dont want to.
Can we hide the LONG description.

Then you can only remove the description entry out of the templates.
Of met css, wel even controleren of het :

.product-grid .product-thumb .caption p,
.product-list .product-thumb .caption p { display: none; }
